Cody Morris Obituary, Death; – A man was apprehended after reportedly admitting to fleeing the scene of a deadly accident that resulted in the death of a woman early Saturday morning, as confirmed by the Richardson Police Department.
According to Richardson PD, at approximately 4:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle in the 2400 block of North Central Expressway. The woman operating the motorcycle was identified as 27-year-old Cody Morris from Plano. She was declared deceased at the scene.
At that time, officers noted that no other vehicles or individuals were present at the crash site.
Less than an hour later, the Plano Police Department received a call from a man, identified as 25-year-old Kelvin Joseph Jr. from Allen, who claimed he had been involved in the accident that resulted in Morris’s death.
Richardson PD reached out to Joseph and found that he was driving northbound on North Central Expressway in a BMW when he collided with the motorcycle. While conversing with Joseph, officers reported that they “observed signs of intoxication.”
Joseph was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated and causing a collision that resulted in personal injury or death, according to police. His bond details have not yet been disclosed.
