Claudia Contreras Obituary, Death; – A 44-year-old woman, identified as Claudia Contreras, was fatally shot in Stockton on Saturday night, as confirmed by the San Joaquin Medical Examiner.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the alleged shooter was apprehended on Sunday morning in San Diego. While deputies did not disclose the nature of the relationship between him and Contreras, it is believed that he was acquainted with her.
Authorities indicated that the initial investigation suggests the shooting might have been accidental, although this is still under review.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday in the vicinity of the 1800 block of B Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Contreras suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was transported to the hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
