Calvin Jerome Brown Arrested; – Charleston County investigators have elevated the charge against a man from North Charleston in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday morning.
Calvin Jerome Brown, aged 19, is now facing a murder charge alongside a charge for possession of a weapon during a violent crime, as stated by sheriff’s spokesperson Lexi Douglas. The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 2600 block of Warm Avenue.
According to investigators, Brown was apprehended at the scene and initially charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Court documents indicate that the victim succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital on Sunday at approximately 5:37 a.m.
The charge of attempted murder was subsequently upgraded to murder, as noted by Douglas. He is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has yet to disclose the identity of the victim.
