Calvin Dewayne Ball Obituary, Death; – Birmingham Police have reported the arrest of an individual in connection with a homicide that occurred on May 21, 2025.
Tyjuan Phillips, aged 40, voluntarily surrendered at the Jefferson County Jail located in Bessemer on Monday, June 23. He faces charges of capital murder and is currently being detained without bond.
The remains of Calvin Dewayne Ball, a 44-year-old resident of Bessemer, were discovered in a vehicle that had been partially set on fire in the 4300 block of Eli Avenue Southwest.
