Brandi Rae Ohlde Obituary, Death; – The Shasta County Coroner’s Office reported on Thursday that the woman who tragically lost her life while pushing a shopping cart on Lake Boulevard on Thanksgiving Day was identified as 40-year-old Brandi Rae Ohlde.
Following the incident, Redding police apprehended a woman on charges of driving under the influence. The collision occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on November 28, near Clay Street on Lake Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered Ohlde had been left on the roadside and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
At the time of the incident, Ohlde was walking along the shoulder of Lake Boulevard with her shopping cart when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westward, as reported by the police. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Jessica Kathryn Remedios of Redding, failed to stop and proceeded to her residence, where officers later found her.
Remedios has been booked into the Shasta County Jail on multiple charges, including vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, causing great bodily injury or death, and felony hit and run, according to police reports.
