Armon Covington Obituary, Death; – The Akron Police Department has provided new details regarding the circumstances that led to a deadly shooting at a gas station over the weekend.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:18 a.m. on July 5 at the BP gas station located at 778 Grant St. As per the Akron Police, an initial investigation has indicated that the individual who lost his life, later identified as 26-year-old Ar’mon Covington, confronted another man who was reportedly harassing women in the parking area.
Following Covington’s intervention, the other man brandished a firearm, shot him multiple times, and subsequently fled southbound on Grant Street, according to police reports.
Covington was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the shooter.
