Angel Sierra Obituary, Death; – A teenager who was fatally shot by a 13-year-old girl in Pomona was identified by county authorities on Tuesday.
Officers discovered the teen, named Angel Sierra by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as reported by a spokeswoman for the Pomona police.
The Pomona Police Department and personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report of the shooting around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, in the 1300 block of East Pasadena Avenue, located south of East Kingsley Avenue, according to authorities.
Video evidence captured multiple police units at the location, with several officers conducting an investigation inside the building. In a statement released on Monday, police indicated that investigators had “identified a 13-year-old female as the possible perpetrator,” who was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Hall.
Due to her age, the girl’s name has not been disclosed. The nature of her relationship with the victim, if any, remains unclear. Although the victim’s age was not specified, earlier reports indicated he was 16 years old.
“The motive for the crime is not yet known, and no further information will be provided at this time,” stated the police.
This homicide marks the ninth of the year in Pomona and the first since a murder-suicide incident on November 17, as noted by Aly Mejia, the public information specialist for the Pomona Police Department.
According to Mejia, there were 12 homicides recorded in Pomona in 2024.
