Angel Lazaro-Castillo Obituary, Death; – A man has been charged with murder following his confession to law enforcement regarding his trip to Greenville, South Carolina, where he allegedly killed an individual and subsequently set the body ablaze, as reported by officials on Wednesday.
Authorities discovered the charred remains of 29-year-old Angel Lazaro-Castillo shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of North 6th Street and Woodside Avenue.
Lieutenant Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office stated that Juan Veneroso Lopez was apprehended on Tuesday evening after a search warrant was executed at a residence on Fore Avenue in Columbia.
Investigators determined that Lopez traveled to Greenville to confront Lazaro-Castillo over a domestic dispute. Flood indicated that Lopez inflicted fatal blunt force trauma on Lazaro-Castillo before dousing him with a flammable substance and igniting the fire. Lopez has since been remanded to the Greenville County Detention Center.
