Amir Jordan Obituary, – The coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of a 19-year-old who was fatally struck by a Cincinnati police cruiser on Thursday. The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Este Avenue, close to Chickering Avenue, in Spring Grove Village.
Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge reported that an officer was responding to a shots fired call while navigating near a Metro bus. The officer had activated both lights and sirens as he proceeded to the emergency scene.
According to police, the victim was crossing the street in a location lacking a designated crosswalk when he was hit by the cruiser. He was subsequently transported to UC Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The coroner’s office has identified the victim as Amir Jordan, aged 19.
The Cincinnati Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. Later that evening, the Fraternal Order of Police issued a statement regarding the event. “The Cincinnati FOP and its members are praying for the young man who was hit and for the officer involved,” stated FOP president Ken Kober in part.
