Tyrence Vann Obituary, Death; – An officer involved in a fatal accident has been named, as confirmed by representatives of the Greensboro Police Department.
On December 12, at approximately 5:12 a.m., authorities reported that a marked police vehicle was proceeding along East Wendover Avenue at Summit Avenue when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, who has been identified as 54-year-old Tyrence Vann, succumbed to his injuries.
The Greensboro Police Department has requested that the High Point Department carry out an independent investigation into the incident. On Tuesday, the High Point Police Department submitted a report regarding the crash to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles. The officer implicated in the incident has been identified as Officer O.E. Hudson.
According to officials, Hudson has been assigned to administrative duties in accordance with departmental policy. The High Point Police Department continues to investigate the incident, and officials have indicated that the inquiry is anticipated to require additional time.
