Steven Gutierrez Obituary – Two individuals lost their lives at two different hospitals early Sunday following a shooting at a house party in Old Hickory, marking yet another incident in a series of deadly shootings in Nashville during the Labor Day weekend.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is currently investigating the shooting that occurred at 4 a.m. at a residence on Fields Drive. Investigators indicated on Sunday that they suspect one of the deceased men fatally shot the other.
Authorities have identified one of the victims as 41-year-old Steven Gutierrez, who, according to witnesses, had an altercation with a 19-year-old man at the party, which escalated after a verbal dispute.
The identity of the 19-year-old has not been disclosed, but he is believed to have shot Gutierrez multiple times before fleeing the scene. Gutierrez succumbed to his injuries at Skyline Medical Center, while the teenager was later taken to Summitt Medical Center, where he died from a single gunshot wound. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s shooting.
