Bonnie Moore Obituary, Death; – An 81-year-old woman lost her life on Monday evening in a collision involving a tractor-trailer in Cherokee County.
The incident took place at approximately 5:40 p.m. on December 16 at the intersection of Cumming Highway and Soleil Parkway. As reported by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a Lexus sedan traveling eastbound on Cumming Highway attempted to make a left turn into the Soleil subdivision when it was struck by a tractor-trailer heading west.
The passenger of the sedan, identified as Bonnie Moore, aged 81, from Canton, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to Kennestone Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not sustain any injuries.
Investigators have indicated that neither speed nor impairment seems to have contributed to the accident. Initial findings suggest that the driver of the sedan did not yield to the approaching tractor-trailer. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
