Sheri Lynn Schoenfield Obituary, Death; – The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim involved in a crash on Saturday morning as 62-year-old Sheri Lynn Schoenfield from Fowlerville.
According to investigators, Schoenfield was struck by a vehicle while she was attempting to rearrange her belongings in the back of a van. The incident occurred on December 14 at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Elm Road, situated between Holt and Van Orden in Leroy Township. Schoenfield was traveling northbound on Elm Road with an unidentified passenger when she abruptly stopped to prevent a collision with a deer crossing her path. She exited the vehicle to adjust items that had shifted in the rear of the van.
A 44-year-old woman from Webberville, accompanied by her daughter, was also driving north on Elm Road. In an attempt to avoid crashing into Schoenfield’s stopped vehicle, they swerved but ultimately struck her.
The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office reported that Northern Ingham Emergency Services and one of their deputies performed CPR and other life-saving procedures at the scene. Unfortunately, Schoenfield was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital.
The other driver and her daughter were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Investigators noted that both the pedestrian and the approaching vehicle may have executed evasive actions to prevent a collision.
