Heather Rainey Obituary, Death; – Authorities in Philadelphia have apprehended an individual in relation to a fatal carjacking that occurred in June. As reported by law enforcement, 21-year-old Tysean Forsythe faces charges including murder, carjacking, robbery, and violations pertaining to firearms.
These charges are linked to a shooting incident that took place on June 22 on the 700 block of West Poplar Street. Police responded to a report of an armed individual in the vicinity around 10:39 p.m. that evening.
Officers from the Philadelphia Housing Authority discovered 47-year-old Heather Rainey suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest. She was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:58 p.m. Reports indicate that Rainey was a military veteran and a mother.
Initial investigations revealed that Rainey’s 2017 Dodge Durango was located at the scene, with its engine still running, a broken window, and personal items scattered throughout the vehicle.
Subsequent inquiries led to the identification of Forsythe, whose last known residence was on the 800 block of North 20th Street, as a suspect. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on charges of murder and related offenses.
On Wednesday, while investigating a stolen vehicle, officers encountered Forsythe on the 2000 block of East Wishart Street. Recognizing him as a fugitive, officers pursued Forsythe on foot and successfully apprehended him without incident on the 1900 block of East Allegheny Avenue.
