Markus Caldwell Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident in Canoga Park on Monday.

The collision occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Friday on De Soto Avenue, just north of Gresham Street, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, Markus Caldwell, 41, from Canoga Park, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to both the LAPD and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Caldwell was attempting to cross westbound on De Soto Avenue when he was struck by a gray or silver vehicle traveling southbound, as stated by police. The driver did not stop following the incident. In response to this tragic event, the city of Los Angeles has announced a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that could lead to the resolution of this fatal hit-and-run case.

“Detectives are appealing to the public for any information related to this incident,” an LAPD statement indicated. “There was significant traffic in the vicinity of De Soto Avenue and Gresham Street at the time of the accident.”
