Brittany Dale Miles,Olivia Marie Alvarez Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision in Washington County. The Iowa State Patrol reported that the incident occurred at 3:51 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, on Highway 218 near mile marker 78. The victims have been identified as 36-year-old Brittany Dale Miles and 27-year-old Olivia Marie Alvarez, both residents of Cedar Rapids.
As per the report, a 2021 Nissan Rogue, operated by Miles, was involved in a pursuit and was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 218 when it collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Ford Explorer, driven by Alvarez. Miles was pronounced dead at the scene, while Alvarez later died from her injuries despite life-saving efforts.
