Donald King Obituary, Death; – Greensboro police have identified the individual who perished following a vehicle fire on Wednesday, as stated in a news release from the Greensboro Police Department.
At approximately 12:26 p.m., officers from Greensboro, along with Greensboro firefighters and Guilford County EMS, responded to a call on Interstate-40 West near Guilford College Road. Upon arrival, officials observed several individuals assisting a driver, later recognized as Donald King, 76, from Greensboro, who had been extricated from a burning vehicle.
King was operating his gray Mercury sedan on I-40 West when a fire ignited within the passenger compartment of the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time. This incident is currently under investigation as a public accident.
