Michael Johnson,Jacob Ruiz Obituary, Death; – Authorities have provided additional information regarding a weekend collision that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday along Interstate 43, north of Highway JJ.
Initial findings from the investigation indicate that Michael Johnson, 76, from Chilton, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when his SUV collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Jacob Ruiz, 43, from Sheboygan.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, and there were no passengers in either vehicle. A third SUV traveling southward struck debris from the accident; however, the occupants of that vehicle were unharmed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
