Mary Louise Bartine Obituary, Death; – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday that the individual who lost her life in a collision last week was identified as 89-year-old Mary Louise Bartine from St. Anthony.

Deputies responded to a serious motor vehicle accident involving an SUV and a semi-truck at the intersection of Northeast Hubbell Avenue and Northeast 112th Street, located just outside Bondurant, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on November 27.

According to a news release, preliminary investigations revealed that the semi-truck was traveling northbound while the SUV was heading eastbound at the time of the incident. The driver of the SUV, later confirmed to be Bartine, was taken to the hospital and was initially reported to be in critical condition. Unfortunately, Bartine succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday afternoon, as stated in the news release.

The semi-truck involved in the incident was transporting a livestock trailer filled with pigs. The collision resulted in the truck and trailer overturning, prompting temporary road closures as first responders worked to manage the recovery of the livestock. As of Monday morning, investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, according to the news release.
