Reese Stanzel Obituary, Death; – A 16-year-old individual has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy in Perth, Ontario, last month, as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Authorities responded to a call near North Street North and Sherbrooke Street East shortly before 3 p.m. on October 25. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased individual, later identified as Reese Stanzel. Initially, a 16-year-old suspect was apprehended at a nearby residence and charged with second-degree murder.
However, following further investigation, the charge has been upgraded to first-degree murder in accordance with section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, as stated by the OPP in a recent update.
The OPP emphasized that they are unable to disclose specific evidence or potential motives at this time, urging the public to exercise patience and to avoid disseminating unverified or misleading information. The identity of the suspect is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident is still active.
The 16-year-old remains in custody and is set to appear in court on November 28.
