Sokhoeun Sem Long Obituary, Death; – The coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of the passenger who tragically lost their life after being ejected from a Fresno overpass on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as 47-year-old Sokhoeun Sem Long, a resident of Fresno. On Tuesday at approximately 5:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a report of an accident occurring on Highway 41 beneath the Highway 180 overpass.
Upon arrival, CHP officials discovered a 2017 Toyota Tundra situated in the center median between the northbound and southbound lanes of State Route 41. The driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries; however, Sem Long, the passenger, was declared dead upon arrival.
The investigation indicated that the Toyota was traveling westbound on Highway 180 when, due to heavy rainfall, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered left, crashed through the concrete guardrail, and subsequently became airborne, falling approximately 25 to 30 feet onto Highway 41.
