Robert Matthew Sams Obituary, Death; – Robert Matthew Sams, aged 58, from Parkersburg, was declared deceased at the scene, according to Police Chief Matthew Board.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:02 p.m. on Saturday, just south of the intersection with West Virginia Avenue. The identity of the driver of the 2010 BMW X5 has not yet been disclosed, as the investigation is ongoing, Board stated. Additionally, a separate fatal single-vehicle accident that took place earlier in the day is also under investigation, Board noted.
Wilson Noel, 20, also from Parkersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2000 Buick LeSabre veered off the road in the 2400 block of Gihon Road, collided with a utility pole, and subsequently overturned. GoFundMe campaigns have been initiated to support the families of both individuals.
