Rascon-Chavez,Luis Adrian Garcia Arrested; – A man sustained injuries in a shooting that authorities believe occurred early Tuesday morning on Cerrillos Road. Two individuals have been apprehended and charged in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals are Jair Rascon-Chavez, 21, and Luis Adrian Garcia, 22, both residents of Santa Fe.
According to a news release from the Santa Fe police, both suspects were reportedly wearing face coverings and ballistic vests, and were armed with assault-style rifles. They are facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm from or at a motor vehicle, and negligent use of a deadly weapon, as detailed in documents submitted to the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
The victim of the shooting is a 48-year-old man from Glorieta. Police reported that officers were called to Presbyterian Hospital at approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, where they found the man with a single gunshot wound; he is currently in stable condition.
