Frank Brantner Obituary, Death; – An 85-year-old man lost his life on Tuesday in a four-vehicle collision on the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, with one additional individual sustaining minor injuries, as reported by Connecticut State Police. The deceased has been identified as Frank Brantner from St. Petersburg, Florida.
The incident took place around 3 p.m. near Exit 37 on the northbound side, when Brantner’s 2015 Lexus 350 RC collided with the rear of a 2020 Kia Forte, which was being driven by a 38-year-old man from Norwalk. According to police, the Kia was decelerating in the right lane behind a Ford F-150 pickup truck just prior to the collision. Following the initial impact, the Kia subsequently struck the pickup truck and a GMC Sierra that was traveling in the adjacent left lane, police reported.
Upon the arrival of first responders, Brantner was found unresponsive and was later declared dead at Norwalk Hospital. The driver of the Kia reported experiencing minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
