On November 18, the sheriff’s office announced that additional charges had been brought against Joshua. An updated post on Facebook indicates that Joshua provided law enforcement with identification that belonged to his other brother, who was not connected to the incident.

Initially, the 41-year-old faced charges of public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in two fatalities. He is now also charged with providing false identification to an officer and identity theft, according to the sheriff’s office.

Furthermore, deputies confirmed that Joshua has two outstanding warrants from Texas. FOX19 NOW has contacted the sheriff’s office for further details regarding these warrants.

The fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on November 16 on AA Highway, near the intersection with Slack Pike Road in Maysville, Kentucky.

The sheriff’s office identified the deceased couple as Joshua Mark Wells, aged 39, and Latasha Kay Wells, aged 44, both from Germantown. According to a previous report by FOX19 NOW, William was driving a Nissan Xterra when he collided with the vehicle occupied by the Wells family.

The impact caused the couple’s vehicle to veer into the path of an oncoming car driven by a 31-year-old woman, who was subsequently airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.

Investigators determined that William and his brother had been consuming alcohol on the night of the crash, and an open container with a strong odor of alcohol was discovered in their vehicle.

A citation indicates that Joshua was later found hiding in a ditch some distance from the scene of the collision. When located, he claimed to officers that he was merely a passenger in the vehicle.
