David Glenn Jenkins Obituary, Death; – A 22-year-old man has been apprehended by police in Montgomery in relation to a fatal accident involving a cyclist that occurred in Montgomery County last year.

As reported by the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD), emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Frederick Road and Gunners Branch Road on August 30, 2023, shortly before 10 p.m., where a collision involving three vehicles and a bicycle had taken place.

The investigation indicated that Kevin Antonio Flores, 22, from Gaithersburg, was allegedly exceeding the speed limit on Frederick Road when he struck 30-year-old David Glenn Jenkins of Germantown, who was crossing in a designated crosswalk. The two vehicles following Flores subsequently collided with Jenkins.

He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities reported that Flores was traveling at approximately 72 mph in a 40 mph zone at the time of the incident. Investigators concluded that the subsequent collisions involving the other two vehicles were unavoidable.

Flores has been charged with criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle and has been released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
