Tanja Annzionetta Safforld Obituary, Death; – A woman from Chicago has been confirmed as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run incident. The collision occurred on the Southwest Side of the city shortly before 6 p.m. last Wednesday.

According to investigators, a gray or black four-door sedan, driven by a male, struck a 54-year-old woman who was crossing the street at the intersection of Western Avenue and Marquette Road. The driver fled the scene, and the victim succumbed to her injuries.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Tanja Annzionetta Safforld on Monday. Authorities have released images of the vehicle sought in connection with this tragic hit-and-run case. The Chicago police are actively pursuing the investigation, but no arrests have yet been made.

Family members reported on Monday that Safforld had intended to make a quick trip to the dollar store. However, when she did not return home, they sensed something was amiss.

“We were having a movie night,” said her niece, Kyara Safforld. “When she didn’t come back, I told my dad, ‘My aunt’s been gone for over an hour.’ That’s when the concern began.” On Monday, relatives gathered at the intersection, located just three blocks from Tanja Safforld’s residence, filled with sorrow.

“What will our Thanksgiving be like, for whoever did this to her?” questioned her brother, Thomas Safforld. “She prepared meals for us every holiday and baked our pies. We won’t even have our pies this year. That’s what it signifies for us.”

The family remained unaware of her fate until the following day. “We couldn’t be there with her to say goodbye or anything,” expressed her daughter, Brittany Rogers. Now, the family is appealing for justice. “Just turn yourself in. We forgive you. Please, this is someone’s mother,” urged her son, Damion Martin.
