Marcell Eugene Morse Obituary, Death; – The individual who tragically lost his life after being struck by a train at a crossing in Henrico County on Sunday has been named by law enforcement. The deceased cyclist has been identified as 59-year-old Marcell Eugene Morse, a resident of Richmond.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, the Henrico County Police Division, along with the Henrico County Fire Division, responded to a report of an incident at the railroad crossing on Hungary Road near Oakview Avenue, where a cyclist had been hit by a train. Upon arrival, officials discovered Morse exhibiting clear signs of trauma and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the initial investigation suggests that Morse was attempting to ride his bicycle across the train tracks while the crossing arms were lowered. He reportedly lost his balance, resulting in the collision with the train.

A companion who was with him successfully crossed the tracks on foot and reached the opposite side without incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Officer T. Holmes at 804-501-5000.
