According to the report, 66-year-old Shirley Hollan succumbed to her injuries at the scene after her SUV was struck by a train at the crossing.
Smokey Barn News indicated that Hollan was attempting to navigate the railroad tracks when an eastbound train approached. Authorities stated that she allegedly ignored the crossing signals and proceeded onto the tracks.
The report further detailed that Hollan’s vehicle collided with the train, resulting in the SUV overturning onto its roof and coming to a stop in a ditch, facing downward. In light of this tragedy, Hollan’s family has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral costs.
