Daniel Christopher Brown Obituary, Death; – The Anderson County Coroner’s Office is conducting an investigation into the fatality of a man who fell from an overturned cherry picker while engaged in tree trimming activities. The deceased has been identified as Daniel Christopher Brown, Sr., a 51-year-old resident of Anderson.
As per the report, Brown was self-employed and was performing tree trimming for a private homeowner in a nearby neighborhood. The incident took place on Thursday at approximately 1:50 p.m. in the Centerville area on Sunny Lane, as stated by Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.
While operating the cherry picker to trim branches, the equipment tipped over, resulting in a fall of approximately 40 to 50 feet to the ground, according to Alyssa H. Whitfield, public information officer for the Anderson County Office of the Coroner. It was noted that the stabilizer for the cherry picker was not deployed, and this oversight, combined with the increasing winds that day, likely contributed to the equipment’s overturning, as reported by Whitfield.
Emergency responders, including personnel from Anderson County EMS, Medshore Ambulance Service, the Anderson County Fire Department (Centerville Station), the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of the Coroner, arrived at the scene.
Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel attempted resuscitation efforts; however, the victim did not respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident has been classified as accidental, with no indications of foul play or negligence.
