Gary Don Liles,Jackie Lee Perkins Obituary, Death; – A collision involving two vehicles has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including three teenagers and a 48-year-old man. The teenagers were the children of a deputy from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
As reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, along Farm-to-Market Road 1053, approximately 1.5 miles south of State Highway 329.
The vehicles involved in this tragic event were a 2024 GMC Sierra and a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Preliminary details from the DPS report indicate that the GMC Sierra was heading south on FM 1053, while the Jeep was traveling north on the same road.
A head-on collision ensued between the two vehicles. Following the impact, the Jeep was completely engulfed in flames, and all its occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep has been identified as 18-year-old Jackie Lee Perkins from Odessa, with his twin brother, 18-year-old Jaden Lewis Perkins, also a passenger in the vehicle.
Another passenger in the Jeep, who was not identified in the DPS report, has been confirmed by the Ector County Sheriff’s Office to be 16-year-old Nautica Perkins, the sister of the twin brothers. All occupants of the Jeep were declared deceased at the scene by Judge Twilah Ward.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 48-year-old Gary Don Liles from Brownfield, was airlifted to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into this crash is ongoing, and no additional information has been made available to the public at this time.
