Nicholas Oleski,Justine A Hitchcock Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives following a collision involving four vehicles in Carroll County during the early hours of November 19, as reported by the Virginia State Police.
According to VSP, the incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, when a Mercedes sedan was traveling northbound on Interstate 77. At that moment, authorities indicated that the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, initiating a series of collisions.
“The Mercedes impacted the end of the guardrail and subsequently spun back onto the Interstate, where it was struck by a 2019 Ford F450,” VSP stated. “The Mercedes then rotated again into the side of a 2023 Volvo VNR tractor trailer. The Volvo truck veered off the right side of the roadway, while the Mercedes once more spun into a 2025 Peterbilt tractor trailer. Ultimately, the Mercedes came to a stop off the right side of the interstate.”
Police identified the driver of the Mercedes as 34-year-old Nicholas Oleski from Cleveland, Ohio. He sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to VSP. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Justine A. Hitchcock, also from Cleveland, perished in the incident.
Authorities confirmed that both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. VSP reported that none of the other drivers or passengers involved sustained injuries. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
