Michelle Hampton Obituary, Death; – The St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a woman found fatally shot late Wednesday morning in the northern part of the city as that of a woman who was abducted in Clayton.
A representative from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers responded to a call in the Kingsway East neighborhood shortly after 11 a.m. A woman was discovered deceased from gunshot wounds in an alley located on the 4700 block of Greer Avenue, near Marcus.
The victim has been identified as Michelle Hampton, aged 37. Investigators from both St. Louis and Clayton have established that Hampton was kidnapped early Wednesday morning on Whitburn Drive by an armed individual.
Family members witnessed the abduction and followed the suspect’s vehicle to the intersection of Euclid and Enright in St. Louis City, where the assailant fired shots at their car. The relatives ceased their pursuit and reported the incident to the Clayton police. Hampton was compelled to drive from Clayton to St. Louis, where she was ultimately murdered, and her body was left on Greer Avenue.
