Quazariya G Williams Obituary, Death;  – Maxton police have confirmed the identity of a 7-year-old girl who was tragically shot and killed on Sunday afternoon while traveling in a vehicle with several other individuals.

Quazariya G. Williams succumbed to her injuries at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg after police reported that Dedric Page, 31, from Maxton, discharged a firearm into the car containing five other occupants on E. Graham Street, as stated by Police Chief Schirra Johnson. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. She was remembered as a cheerleader and described as a “sweet girl who had a lot going on in her life,” according to Maxton police Lt. Patrick Hunt.

Page was apprehended shortly after the incident and faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm within city limits, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Lt. Hunt noted that Page was out on bond for a previous weapons charge at the time of the shooting.

Hunt indicated that the shooting arose from a confrontation between Page and the girl’s mother. Page has since been taken to the Robeson County Detention Center.
