Corey Mouton,Jamir Carmouche Obituary, Death; – Lafayette police have identified the two people killed in a Saturday shooting that injured two others across from the University of Louisiana Lafayette’s campus following the homecoming football game.
Police responded to the 7:30 p.m. Saturday shooting outside 405 E. University Ave., at a popular fried chicken restaurant called KOK Wings and Things. Corey Mouton, 26 of Carencro, and Jamir Carmouche, 24 of Lafayette, were killed in the shooting, Lafayette police said Sunday.
Two other people were struck by gunfire and are in stable condition. One person appears to have been the intended target and died at the scene. The others appear to not have been targeted, police said.
Police did not say who the intended target was. Additional information was not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to contact LPD or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS (8477).
