Michael Carbone Obituary, Death: – A 77-year-old resident of Pompton Plains, Passaic County, has been confirmed as the individual who lost his life after being struck by a train on October 28 in Morris County. Michael Carbone was hit by Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 at approximately 9:30 a.m., as reported by NJ Transit officials.
The tragic event took place at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park. Authorities have verified that the crossing gates were operational and in the lowered position at the time of the incident. Despite the gates being active, Carbone maneuvered his vehicle around them, placing it directly in the train’s path.
Fortunately, none of the 40 passengers or crew members on board the train were injured. However, Carbone was declared dead at the scene. NJ Transit is actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
