Monica Mosley Obituary, Death; – A fifth individual has been charged in relation to the homicide of a Cumberland County detective, who was fatally shot in her residence in Bridgeton, New Jersey, last month.
Bryon Thomas, 35, from Paulsboro, New Jersey, has been officially charged with the murder of 51-year-old Monica Mosley, as announced by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, November 5.
In the previous week, prosecutors revealed that Nyshawn Mutcherson, 29, of Vineland, Jarred Brown, 31, of Bridgeton, and Richard Willis, 32, of Gloucester City, have also been charged with murder in connection with this case. Furthermore, Cyndia Pimentel, 38, faces charges for hindering the investigation into Mosley’s death.
The inquiry commenced when Bridgeton Police responded to a report of several individuals attempting to force entry into a home on the 600 block of Buckshutem Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. on October 15. Upon arrival, they discovered Mosley suffering from a gunshot wound.
Mosley, who held the position of detective sergeant with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The investigation subsequently directed officers to Inspira Hospital in Bridgeton and later to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where a person receiving treatment for a gunshot wound was detained for questioning.
Investigators later identified Mutcherson, Brown, Willis, and Pimentel as suspects in connection with Mosley’s murder. Mutcherson, Brown, and Willis face charges of murder, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, and other related offenses. Pimentel is charged with hindering an investigation, obstruction of justice, and tampering with evidence.
On November 2, Thomas was apprehended with the aid of the New Jersey State Police and the United States Marshals. He is now charged with murder, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, and other related offenses.
“This development underscores the unwavering commitment of the law enforcement agencies involved in this case,” stated Cape May County Prosecutor Sutherland. “We remain dedicated to ensuring justice is served.”
