Frank Nichols Obituary, Death; – A man who was fatally shot in the 7th Ward last Wednesday has been identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office as of Monday morning.
Officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to a report at 8:56 p.m. in the 1900 block of A.P. Turead Avenue, where they encountered 55-year-old Frank Nichols with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Paramedics subsequently transported Nichols to University Medical Center New Orleans for medical attention.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined that the suspect brandished a firearm and shot Nichols during a dispute. Initially, the incident was categorized as aggravated battery by shooting; however, it was later reclassified after the victim succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, no additional information regarding a potential suspect has been released. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
