Reagan Pyle Obituary, Death; – Williamsport police, in conjunction with the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office, are investigating whether the death of a man found shot in a Grant Street apartment on Saturday afternoon was the result of suicide or homicide.
County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. stated late Monday afternoon, following the completion of an autopsy at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, that investigators are still working to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident in the apartment.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Reagan Pyle of Williamsport, who was discovered in a second-floor apartment at 449 Grant St. Police and paramedics were dispatched to the location around 2:10 p.m. in response to a report of a gunshot and an unresponsive individual. According to Kiessling, Pyle resided on nearby Washington Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound. They also noted the presence of a firearm and other evidence at the scene. Police conducted interviews with residents of the apartment building. The coroner’s office was notified of the death several hours after the shooting, with Kiessling officially pronouncing Pyle deceased at 9:36 p.m.
Kiessling reported that Pyle succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the torso. He indicated that the determination of the manner of death remains pending the investigation’s outcome, which could classify it as a suicide, homicide, or undetermined. District Attorney Thomas Marino mentioned on Monday that his office is collaborating with city police to collect evidence, although he did not provide further details.
