Margarita Diz Fernandez Obituary, Death; – A woman succumbed to her injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the afternoon of Friday, November 1. As reported by the police, they arrived at the scene located in the 700 block of Bellevue at approximately 2:52 p.m.
Authorities indicated that a 2002 Ford Escape, operated by a 30-year-old man from Cape Girardeau, was traveling west on Bellevue from N. Sprigg St. when it collided with a pedestrian who was crossing Bellevue in a northbound direction.
The pedestrian has been identified as 85-year-old Margarita Diz Fernandez, a resident of Cape Girardeau. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The crash reconstruction team of the Cape Girardeau Police Department is actively conducting an investigation into the incident.
