Ezra Galvez Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old motorist lost his life in a collision after Nevada State Police reported that he was traveling in the wrong direction.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 19, Nevada State Police were dispatched to the area of IR80 west and Robb Drive in Washoe County following a crash. Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2007 Jeep Liberty was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane when it collided with a 2017 Peterbilt semi-tractor that was moving west while towing two flatbed trailers.
In an attempt to prevent a collision, the driver of the semi-tractor swerved, while the Jeep driver veered to the right. The front of the Jeep subsequently struck the front of the tractor, resulting in the Jeep catching fire after the impact.
The driver of the Jeep has been identified as 18-year-old Ezra Galvez from Gardnerville, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-tractor remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.
