Blake France,Anthony Garrett Obituary, Death; – A man has been charged with murder and several other offenses following the discovery of two deceased individuals in a house fire in Elizabethtown on Wednesday morning.

Dustin Caudill, 45, a resident of Elizabethtown, faces multiple charges related to the deaths of two men found in the 500 block of Hennon Lane shortly before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, as reported by Chris Denham, spokesperson for the Elizabethtown Police Department.

The deceased, identified as Blake France, 41, from Greenville, and Anthony Garrett, 43, from Elizabethtown, were discovered in the residence with gunshot wounds, prompting police to initiate a “death investigation with suspicious circumstances.”

Denham indicated that the fire was deliberately set, and witnesses reported seeing a gold pickup truck leaving the vicinity. Police efforts led to the “identification and apprehension of the suspect within an hour and a half of their response” to the scene. The pickup truck was later found at a nearby motel, where Caudill was observed exiting the vehicle and disposing of a firearm. Investigators also recovered items belonging to France and Garrett in Caudill’s motel room.

According to Denham, Caudill allegedly confessed to investigators, admitting to shooting the victims and intentionally igniting the fire at the residence. He also reportedly confessed to stealing the wallets of France and Garrett and discarding them at a gas station, as well as attempting to shoot a third victim.

Currently, Caudill is being held at the Hardin County Detention Center, facing charges that include one count of first-degree arson, two counts of murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of first-degree wanton endangerment, one count of first-degree robbery, and one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
