Madelein Lopez-Resendiz Obituary, Death; – The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the Pelion region. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 19, in the 100 block of Hartley Quarter Road at approximately 7 p.m.

Coroner Fisher reported that Madelein Lopez-Resendiz, a 25-year-old resident of Pelion, was walking westbound on Hartley Quarter Road when she was struck by a vehicle also traveling in the same direction. Lopez-Resendiz was declared deceased at the scene due to the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Authorities indicated that the driver did not remain at the scene and fled following the incident. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT, is actively investigating the matter.
