Joshua Villa Obituary, Death; Semi driver found guilty of vehicular homicide in tow-truck driver’s death

Joshua Villa Obituary, Death; – A semi-truck driver from Michigan was found guilty on Monday for the death of an Adel tow-truck driver in 2023. A jury in Polk County convicted Dmytro Prysich, 55, of vehicular homicide while under the influence, although he was acquitted of the charge of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

The incident occurred on November 12, 2023, when Prysich struck and killed Joshua Villa, 45, near the 86th Street exit in Urbandale. At the time, Villa was in the process of loading a disabled vehicle onto his tow truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, Clive police apprehended Prysich shortly thereafter, and subsequent blood tests revealed his blood alcohol concentration to be .196. Prysich is facing a potential sentence of 25 years in prison, with his sentencing hearing scheduled for December 10th.
