Ronald Mack Arrested; – A man from Miami-Dade was apprehended in relation to a stabbing incident that deputies report left his neighbor in serious condition over the past weekend.

According to jail records, 32-year-old Ronald Mack is charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder using a deadly weapon.

The event took place on Sunday around 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and Northwest 116th Terrace in the Pinewood area.

Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office indicated that the victim was exiting a 7-Eleven in the vicinity and walking south along the east side of Northwest Seventh Avenue when Mack, a nearby resident, began to follow him.

They reported that the victim crossed to the west side of the street, with Mack trailing behind, brandishing a knife and stabbing the victim approximately eight times, primarily in the chest.

The victim then fled northbound on Northwest Seventh Avenue as Mack continued his assault before escaping west on Northwest 116th Street, according to the report.

On Tuesday, deputies stated that the victim was able to identify Mack.

They subsequently found Mack around 12:20 p.m. near his home on the 700 block of Northwest 117th Street.

When deputies approached him, he fled and jumped over several fences.

During the chase, a knife fell from his pocket, which authorities later recovered. He was eventually located in a backyard on Northwest 117th Street and taken into custody without any further incidents.

An arrest report indicates that Mack was informed of his Miranda rights, chose to waive his right to an attorney, and denied any participation in the assault during questioning by investigators.

As of Wednesday, he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with his bond status listed as “to be set.”

The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear at this moment.
