Valente Abeldano Perez Obituary, Death; – The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office has disclosed the identity of a man believed to have shot a woman on Sunday at an intersection in Henderson.
As stated by Rusk County Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez, the suspect has been named as Valente Abeldano Perez, 50, although the sheriff noted that he was known as Mauricio.
According to the sheriff, Perez was discovered deceased in an empty lot off County Road 482 in Rusk County, next to a truck that he used to flee the scene.
The sheriff’s office has withheld the cause of Perez’s death pending the results of the autopsy report.
Perez is alleged to have shot a woman at the intersection of FM 225 South and Highway 79 South in Henderson.
The identity and condition of the woman have not been disclosed, but the Henderson Police Department reports that she is still hospitalized.
At this time, it remains unclear whether Perez had any previous convictions or arrests.
