Sherry Darlene Lydon,William John Lydon Jr Obituary, Death; – A woman shot her husband to death, injured her son, and then died after she collided head-on with an 18-wheeler in an attempt to commit suicide in Dyer County early Thursday morning, according to deputies.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident started when Sherry Darlene Lydon was suspected of fatally shooting her husband, William John Lydon Jr., 60, while he was sleeping.
DCSO said that she also shot her 24-year-old son before leaving her residence in a Dodge Charger. Her son was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Deputies said that Sherry Darlene Lydon, 60, died from her injuries after the crash.
According to DCSO, preliminary investigations show that Mrs. Lydon had recently undergone surgery to remove a tumor and was reportedly experiencing night terrors, anxiety, and sleep disturbances.
Authorities say it started when they responded to a shooting call in the Lenox area.
