Lakendrick Rayshon Dunn Obituary, Death; – Investigators in Tuscaloosa have charged an individual with murder related to a shooting incident in the Alberta area, which was initially believed to potentially involve self-defense.
As previously reported by the Thread, the Tuscaloosa Police, along with the Violent Crimes Unit, responded to a shooting report in the 600 block of East 30th Avenue a few weeks ago, on November 22nd.
At the scene, one individual had been fatally shot, and although law enforcement quickly detained persons of interest, no arrests were made immediately following the incident.
VCU Co-commander Marty Sellers indicated at that time that there was some evidence suggesting the fatal shooting could have been an act of self-defense. The victim, Lakendrick Rayshon Dunn, was armed when he was shot.
Dunn, aged 38, succumbed to his injuries after the shooting, and on Thursday, the VCU apprehended a 20-year-old suspect, charging him with murder.
“Since the initial incident, the case has been actively investigated. Following the examination of the crime scene and ballistic evidence, autopsy findings, conducting follow-up interviews, and consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, probable cause was established to charge the shooter in this case with Murder,” stated VCU Commander Jack Kennedy. “Warrants were issued, and Jamarcus Raheem Jordan, 20 years old, was arrested yesterday for Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.”
Kennedy noted that the homicide occurred during a dispute between the two individuals.
