Mary Tafoya Obituary, Death; – A 77-year-old woman has been confirmed as the victim of a deadly collision at the intersection of Northern and Prairie Avenue on December 1, 2025.
Mary Tafoya succumbed to injuries incurred in a vehicular accident involving three cars at approximately 3:48 p.m. on December 1, at the junction of Northern Avenue and Prairie Avenue.
She was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 8:40 p.m., as reported by Interim Pueblo County Coroner Gregory Grahek.
Another individual suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Tafoya and the injured individual were in separate vehicles, according to Pueblo police spokesperson Antoinette Ramos.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, although they have stated that drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors. Other elements related to the incident are under examination.
The intersection remained closed throughout the night but was reopened by 8 a.m. on December 2, functioning as a four-way stop.
