Aniceto Trujillo Obituary, Death; – The Metro Nashville Police Department has confirmed the identity of the driver who lost his life in a crash that caused Interstate 40 to be closed for several hours during the post-Thanksgiving holiday travel period over the weekend.

Authorities reported that the deceased semi-truck driver has been identified as 65-year-old Aniceto Trujillo, hailing from Denair, California.

Trujillo was involved in a two-vehicle collision on I-40 West at Briley Parkway on Sunday afternoon. Police indicated that the incident was reported around noon. Initial investigations and video footage suggest that the driver of a Toyota Corolla was unable to successfully navigate a turn while merging onto I-40 West from the Briley Parkway exit ramp, resulting in a collision with the side of the semi-truck.

The impact caused the truck to overturn, while the Corolla veered off the road and into a ravine. The Corolla’s driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

He has been identified as 18-year-old Mero Abdallah from Mt. Juliet. The Metro Nashville Police Department stated that there was no indication of impairment at the scene.
